Why it matters
Most finance reporting fails not because the numbers are wrong, but because nobody outside finance can use them. Pages of line items and acronyms might be technically complete, yet leave a founder no closer to a decision. Clarity is what turns data into something you can act on — and trust.
Honesty matters just as much as clarity. It is easy to make a month look fine; it is far more useful to say what is actually going on, including what we are unsure about. A partner who only ever delivers good news is not giving you information, they are managing you.
