The reason to work with a small, founder-led firm is simple: the person who understands your account is the person doing the work. Nothing important gets lost in a handoff, and the standard you are sold is the standard you actually receive.

Why it matters

Most finance problems are not arithmetic problems — they are context problems. A junior analyst can run a reconciliation, but they cannot tell you that this month’s spike is the annual insurance renewal rather than a leak, because they were not there last year. When the same senior person carries your account month after month, that context compounds. Fewer things slip, fewer questions need re-explaining, and the advice you get is grounded in how your business actually works.

In a big firm the partner you meet in the pitch is rarely the person who touches your books. The work drops down to a rotating bench, and you spend the relationship re-onboarding people who never quite hold the whole picture. Founder-led is the deliberate opposite of that.

How we keep it true as we grow

The honest risk with any growing firm is that “founder-led” quietly becomes “founder-supervised.” We guard against it by keeping the number of clients per partner deliberately low. We would rather take on fewer engagements and stay genuinely close to each one than spread thin and hand the real work to a bench. If your partner is ever away, you are told who is covering and why — there are no silent handoffs.
